Our Italian courses

Take part of one of our Italian courses!
Our Italian language and culture courses run all year round in Pisa.
In Viareggio, a seaside resort, we run Italian courses only during the summer months.

The Italian course learning programme is divided into 6 levels, according to the Common European Framework, from absolute beginners to advanced level (A1-C2). Our Italian learning programme follows the structure and contents of the University for Foreigners of Siena syllabus.

You can choose from a wide variety of Italian Courses and Italian Culture Courses and well as Special courses of Cultural enrichment. Our Italian Courses vary in the number of lessons per week and whether they are in groups, individual lessons or a combination of the two (group lessons and individual lessons).

The minimum number of students for each group course is 4 people and the maximum number is 12 people.

Italian Language and Italian Culture Courses:

General Italian course “GA”: this combines grammar lessons with activities focused on developing your communication skills. You will also learn about different aspects of the Italian culture. The General course is held in Pisa and consists of 20 group lessons per week, 4 lessons a day.

Holiday Italian course “GV”: this is primarily focused on the development of conversational skills, but the lessons still include grammar and culture. The Holiday course is held in Viareggio with 20 group lessons per week, 4 lessons a day.

Intensive Italian course “GB”: this option covers the same syllabus as the General course in Pisa and the Holiday course in Viareggio, but with additional conversation classes. After 4 hours of morning lessons, students on the Intensive course receive a further 2 hours of tuition in a group in the afternoon. The Intensive course can be taken in either Pisa or Viareggio and consists of 30 group lessons per week, 6 lessons a day.

Long Term Italian course “LT”: this course runs for a minimum of 12 weeks, and allows students to make significant progress in their ability to communicate. The teaching is focused on grammar, conversation, written skills and Italian culture. The Long Term course is only held in Pisa and consists of 20 group lessons per week, 4 lessons a day.

Individual Italian course “IC”: this is a personalised course, tailor made to suit the individual student’s work and study needs. The intensive one-to-one teaching allows for progress to be made quickly, maximising the time spent in Italy, which may only be a short period. The Individual Italian course is held both in Pisa and Viareggio. It consists of either 20, 30 or 40 lessons a week, 4, 6, or 8 lessons a day, respectively. The timetable is to be determined by the student, and the start date is open.

Individual Italian course with lunch with the teacher “IP”: this follows the same format of one-to-one tuition as the Individual course but with an additional two hours of conversation time with the teacher, which are held at a local restaurant or pizzeria. The Individual Italian course with lunch with the teacher is held in both Pisa and Viareggio. It consists of either 20, 30 or 40 lessons a week, 4, 6, or 8 lessons a day, respectively. The timetable is to be determined by the student, and the start date is open.

Mini-intensive Italian course “MI”: this combines group lessons in the morning with a further hour of one-to-one tuition for the student in the afternoon. This individual lesson can be focused on a subject of the student’s interest or related to his/ her profession or studies. This might suit, for instance, a professional looking to develop industry-specific Italian skills, or a student preparing for a university exam in Italian. The Mini intensive Italian course is held in Pisa and Viareggio. It consists of 25 lessons per week (20 group + 5 individual), 5 lessons a day.

Super-intensive Italian course “SI”: this option includes attending morning lessons with other students and then receiving 2 hours of individual classes in the afternoon. The topics covered in the one-to-one tuition are flexible and can be personalised to suit the student’s interests and needs. Teachers are happy to centre the private lessons around the student’s field of work or study, if desired. The Super Intensive Italian course is held in Pisa and Viareggio. It comprises 30 lessons per week (20 group hours and 10 individual hours a week), 6 lessons a day.
